Samples of 2D Artwork from '11 Art Show

In my last post, I talked about our annual Art exhibit.


In this post, I wanted to share some pix of my favorite 2D artworks from the displays of my colleagues at K-5 schools...









Next up will be 2D work from the 6-8 Middle schools that always inspires me to push my 5th graders a little bit more...

    We're just beginning Wayne Thiebaud here, and so I particularly noticed the cake above. Is it painting? or chalk pastels? Or...? Are the white outlines (a nice touch) oil pastel?

    Checked w/my colleague - good eyes! It was done in oil pastel. I've done Thibaud w/2nd graders & tempera but I liked the finished look of this more - especially the fancy cake stand...

    Was I supposed to slip you a $20? I see a lot of Tarver art projects. Thanks! Now that I'm feeling better, I need to go take a better look at all the work. I love how so many of us do Thiebaud projects in our own way. No two alike!
